At its core, it's about a guided journey – so lots of gorillas, a bit of volcanoes, and if time allows, hiking too. I prefer accommodation that's small and personal, more lodges than big hotels. It's important to me not to tick off everything: I'd rather linger in a place if it feels right, explore local markets, and strike up conversations with people. I'm relaxed, up early, and enjoy sitting at a table in the evening with a glass of wine or a cup of tea. Linguistically, Swahili/English are no problem.
