Tonga in August – Nukuʻalofa, Vavaʻu & Haʻapai

Hi! I'm Charlotte from Saint Saviour, 32, and I've planned a week and a half in Tonga for August 2028. Rough itinerary: Nukuʻalofa, Vavaʻu, Haʻapai, ʻEua. The core idea is island hopping – so lots of whales, a bit of snorkeling, and if time permits, beach time too. I prefer small and personal accommodation, guesthouses rather than large hotels. It's important to me not to tick boxes: I'd rather stay longer in a place if it feels right, visit local markets, and chat with people. I'm laid-back, an early riser, and enjoy sitting at a table with a glass of wine or tea in the evening. Linguistically, English/French is no problem. Looking for a travel buddy – we don't have to be together 24/7. Sharing meals, spending a day together, or going on a hike together is perfectly fine.
