Terms and Conditions

1. Scope

These T&Cs apply to all users of the platform. By registering, you acknowledge these conditions.

2. Service Description

The platform facilitates contacts between people looking for or offering travel companions. The provider is not a contractual partner for any trip arranged through the platform. No travel agency or tour operator contract is formed.

3. Registration & User Account

Registration is free. You must be at least 18 years old. Only one account per person is allowed. Your information must be truthful. Ads are manually reviewed before publication.

4. Free and Paid Features

Posting ads is free. Replying to inquiries about your own ad is also free.

Actively contacting other users requires a paid subscription – with the following exception: If you have at least one approved listing with at least two photos online (created or updated within the last 90 days), you can also contact other users without a subscription.

Prices vary regionally (Purchasing Power Parity). Current prices are displayed transparently before concluding a contract.

Note for users from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland: Travelbuddy Premium exclusively covers messages to members of the new Travelbuddy-/travelmatch.net system. Messages to older listings from urlaubspartner.net will continue to be billed individually (€1.99 per initial contact with a listing). The old system also applies: Anyone who has at least one activated listing with at least two photos online can message urlaubspartner.net listings for free. The photo bonus (≥ 2 photos in your own listing) also applies additionally to the new Travelbuddy system and enables messaging there without a subscription.

5. Contract Term & Cancellation

Subscriptions are billed monthly and automatically renew for another month unless canceled at least 24 hours before expiration. Cancellation is possible at any time without giving a reason directly in your user account.

6. User Obligations

Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to: commercial content without permission, sexual or pornographic content, harassment of other users, false identities, violations of applicable law. Violations will result in suspension without refund.

7. Liability

The provider is not liable for the content or behavior of other users, for the execution of arranged trips, or for damages resulting from contacts made via the platform. Liability is limited to intent and gross negligence, as far as legally permissible.

8. Data Protection

Our privacy policy applies.

9. Applicable Law & Jurisdiction

The law of the Republic of Seychelles shall apply, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, mandatory regulations of their home country remain unaffected. The place of jurisdiction for merchants is Victoria, Mahé, Seychelles.

10. Changes to T&Cs

The provider may change these T&Cs with reasonable notice. Significant changes will be notified by email; silence after 30 days is considered consent.
